Your charter, explained.
We find aircraft, compare quotes and arrange your trip. The licensed operator provides the aircraft and crew. Your flight contract is with the operator.
Your trip
Dates, airports, number of passengers, luggage, and how flexible you can be on time or airport. Flexibility can change which aircraft are available.
We ask operators
We put the trip to operators flying the right size of aircraft for it, and check that each holds a current Air Operator Certificate.
You compare
You receive the quotes, each naming the operator and the aircraft, with the operator's charter terms attached and our fee on its own line.
You book
You confirm with the operator under its charter agreement and pay the operator for the flight. We invoice our fee separately.
Until you have flown
We stay your point of contact for changes and questions, and take them up with the operator for you.
What your quote includes.
| On the quote | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Operator | The company that will fly you, and its Air Operator Certificate |
| Aircraft | The aircraft type and the number of passenger seats |
| Flight price | The operator's own price for the flight, and what it includes |
| Taxes and charges | Air Passenger Duty, VAT where it applies, and anything the operator charges separately |
| Our fee | Our fee for arranging the trip, on its own line, and whether it is refundable if you cancel |
| Terms | The operator's charter terms, including what happens if you change or cancel |
Know the full cost.
The items that most often differ between quotes are positioning (flying the aircraft to your departure airport, or home afterwards), landing and handling fees, de-icing, catering, crew overnight costs, VAT and Air Passenger Duty. If a quote is silent on one of them, we get the answer from the operator in writing before you book.
Air Passenger Duty is changing for private flights. The higher rate currently applies only to aircraft of 20 tonnes or more with fewer than 19 seats. The government has announced that from April 2027 it will apply to aircraft of 5.7 tonnes or more used as a private or business jet. For travel from April 2027, we check that each quote reflects the rate that will apply.
Read the terms before you book.
Each operator sets its own change and cancellation terms. We send them with your quote. The quote also states whether our fee is refundable.
Our role, stated plainly.
We act as your agent
We are not a party to the contract for the flight, which is between you and the operator. Flights arranged through us are therefore not protected under the ATOL scheme, and our quotes and invoices say so.
We are not an air carrier or aircraft operator. Every flight is operated by an independent operator holding an Air Operator Certificate, and that operator is responsible for the flight.
- We do not operate aircraft or employ crew.
- We do not take payment for the flight. You pay the operator.
- We do not sell hotels, transfers or holiday packages.
- We take no commission, rebate or other payment from operators.
- We hold no interest in any aircraft or operator.
Tell us first.
If the problem is with the flight, the operator is responsible under its terms, and we will take it up with them on your behalf. If the problem is with us, write to hello@thezondagroup.co.uk and I will deal with it personally.
